This page contains the rest of the current series of my sculpture cremation urns, the most recent part of which can be found on the Urn Page. The series has been rather consistent numerically, but fluid. When a newly designed work is completed it may replace one that has been repeated several times, so that each sculpture has a limited edition.
Sculptural Vessels is a literal and figurative description for my cremation urns, in that each is literally a receptive conduit.
In addition to being a container for cremation ashes, each piece can also be considered to be a fine art sculpture work with a surprise compartment in the pedestal.
The figurative meaning of ‘vessel’ has long intrigued me, and a number of these works represent the means by which a journey may be taken. Short descriptions of each piece accompany the images, to allow the viewer to understand my motivation in its creation.
