My work derives from a stong background in human
anatomy, and an ongoing study of organic form. I continually
search for ideas from the natural environment, and am
initially attracted to a figure visualized within an object.
A shape within a shape is extracted both from its surroundings
and its context, and is transformed by drawings and three
dimensional imaging into a form with new meaning.
I often weave a story into the installation of
my public artwork because stories expand in their retelling
and play a part in allowing the sculpture to become a
focal point of its installation site.
I have completed a number of both public and
private commissioned sculptural
works. Requests for commissioning large-scale sculptural
artwork based on a previous or new design and site specific
inquiries are welcome.
