My studio is located in the foothills of the Manzano Mountains above Albuquerque, NM. This area has proven to be a treasure trove for found objects and rock formations. I continually search for objects in their natural environment, and am initially attracted to something by a shape visualized within it. A shape within a shape is extracted from both its surroundings and its context, and may become a model for the design of a new small work.
Completed small works are gallery pieces and maquettes for large commission works. These pieces are shown to demonstrate some of the other facets of my work, and are not for sale through this website. Interested parties are encouraged to contact me for the location of specific gallery pieces, and for inquiries concerning large or small commissions.
Image: Metamorphosis; The Swan, alabaster, 9x7x5 inches. A recent small work was returned from a gallery to repair a small chip. In the process, I turned the refinished sculpture up side down and before my eyes it morphed into a swan.
